ACADEMIC - FULL PROOFREAD

Your thesis, dissertation, or academic paper is complete but you want an extra eye to check for grammar and spelling details.  I keep my hands off of the actual content of your work, but assist in improving grammar, spelling, and sentence structure, as well as ensure that all citations are accurate based on the project requirements.

What's involved in an Academic - Full Proofread package? 
First we will go over the objectives or rubric for your project, if applicable, to make sure that I am not doing any work that is yours to do for this project.  For instance, if your assignment requires you to practice citations for the purpose of learning them, I will keep my hands off of that aspect of the project.  However, if the purpose of your assignment is the content itself, I can help with the technicalities of citations, grammar, and spelling.  

Generally, I will look for the following things:

• Punctuation in dialogue and narration

• Comma, colon, and semicolon usage

• Standard American English grammar and spelling 

• Capitalization and hyphenation

• Paragraph breaks and indentations

• Consistent line, paragraph, and sentence spacing

• Verb tenses 

• Consistent usage of numbers, symbols, and contractions

• In-text citations (MLA, APA, or Chicago formats)

• Proper pagination, footnotes, and appendices 

• Reference lists

• Headings and seriation

• Organization and coherence of in-text tables and figures

• Plagiarism
